Installing the app

1

Visit the Shopify App Store

Go to the Shopify App Store and find circuly Subscriptions, or click the Install App button in the top navigation of this documentation.
2

Add to your store

Click Install and authorize the app to access your Shopify store. You’ll be redirected to your Shopify admin to confirm permissions.
3

Open the app

After installation, find circuly Subscriptions in your Shopify admin under Apps. Click to open the app and begin setup.

Your dashboard

When you first open the app, you’ll land on the dashboard on the Free plan. Real subscription data appears here as soon as your store starts generating it — every section will be empty until then. Settings, Invoices, and Integrations are available from day one.

Setup guide

Whenever you’re ready to configure your store, click Setup Guide on the dashboard. The setup guide walks you through four steps:
1

Welcome

A brief overview of what circuly Subscriptions can do for your store.
2

Create your first subscription plan

Set up a subscription plan with your preferred pricing, billing frequency, and duration. See Create Subscription Plans for detailed instructions.
3

See an overview of all available features and what each plan tier unlocks.
4

Setup

Add the subscription widget to your storefront and complete any remaining configuration. See Theme Extension Setup for details.

Choosing a pricing plan

After completing the setup guide, you’ll be directed to choose a pricing plan. circuly Subscriptions offers different tiers to match your business size and needs. Each tier determines:
  • How many subscription plans you can create
  • Access to advanced features like auto-assign, cross-sell, and loyalty pricing
  • Priority support options
You can view and change your plan at any time from the app’s Settings page.

Initial setup checklist

After completing the setup guide and choosing a plan, make sure you’ve covered these essentials:
You need at least one active subscription plan before customers can subscribe. Go to Subscription Plans in the app to create one.
Products won’t show subscription options until they’re assigned to a plan. Use the product assignment feature in the plan editor or the admin extensions.
The subscription widget must be added to your product pages via the Shopify Theme Editor. See Theme Extension Setup.
Place a test order with Shopify’s test payment gateway to make sure the subscription flow works end-to-end.
Allow customers to manage their subscriptions from their account page. See Customer Portal.
